This cabin comes with:

• a large living area with a TV, 2 couches that each have a pull-out bed for extra sleepers

• a wood stove heated by propane, great for chilly evenings!

• a kitchen with an apartment-sized fridge/freezer, propane stove, dishes, pots & pans

• a bathroom with a vanity, sit-in shower and toilet

All the lights and outlets our powered by the solar panels outside your front door. 

All the water in the cabin is collected rainwater.

The Story Behind Murray’s Cabin

Murray’s Cabin is named in honour of Mike’s beloved uncle, Murray — a kind, quiet soul with a deep love for nature. As his health began to decline, Murray made one heartfelt request: he didn’t want to spend his final years in a nursing home. Instead, he longed to be surrounded by the peace of the forest, the whisper of the wind through the trees, and the beauty of the natural world he cherished.

In response, we built this cabin — a place of calm, comfort, and connection to the land — so Murray could live out his days where he felt most at peace. He spent his final months here, held by the stillness of the woods and the warmth of family nearby.

 

Murray passed away in April 2025. We named this cabin in his honour, as a tribute to his gentle spirit and his love of the wilderness. His memory lives on in every leaf, sunrise, and birdsong that graces this special place.
